Jaguar employ 44000 world wide that is 11000 software engineers, say no more, the problem is much more serious than I thought.
As someone who spent almost their entire working life in Software Dev, I can say with confidence that numbers don't always make a difference to the end result.
I have firsthand experience of being called to pick up the pieces of failed projects and turn them around usually with far fewer developers than before.

I've also managed teams of developers who were mainly from South Asia. Many of their so-called skills were totally fictitious, their CV works of art. Just because you spent 1 day on a project where product 'X' was used does not give you the right to put 'expert in 'X'' on your CV.
The real problem in software is always either very poor or non-existent requirements and changing the requirements during development. Software team size, Developers between 5 and 7 is nice, the same applies for testers. 11000 developers sounds like a horrendous communication problem.

Interesting article in Autocar.

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new- ... s-answered

Good to read that the new boss likes and drives an Ipace.

Was there an existing Jaguar that Thierry Bolloré did like?

He’s a big enthusiast of the pioneering I-Pace EV, which has admittedly been labelled an SUV but is really a crossover. He drives and enjoys one and told his audience the car had a lot of potential. He believes it could be made “better and better”.

I think there is a lot to come from Jaguar and the Ipace. 😊
Really good news that the new boss drives an IPace he will learn of the issues many face first hand, and with luck kick some arses to get it right. As it looks like the IPace is going to be in production for at least 4 yrs the next update will be better and function first time.
IPace SE Caesium Blue, Ivory interior, Air suspension, 18in wheels, Drivers pack, 360. arrived 16th July, very nice.

There must be a few contacts on this forum who could "enable" enthusiast Thierry to become a contributing member, instead of CRC @Jaguar who seems have become disinterested.

Cheers, Steve

If he is an enthusiast he may well already be reading theses threads - but we will never know.

He’s CEO of a big company with quite some problems to solve. I doubt he’s gonna be here and read. He can still send employees to get a feeling tho.

Well, Elon is the CEO of two companies each at least as big as JLR, but somehow still finds time to be on Twitter all the time.
