Stowage in the tailgate door

Post by Topdown » Thu Apr 22, 2021 9:02 pm

I noticed a stowage compartment on the inside of the tailgate door. It looks it could take the warning triangle but it does not fit. Anyone any idea what would be in there?

Hi Topdown,

Yep, you’re 100% right. It’s for the warning triangle.

On past Jags this came by default, but for the I-Pace I had to buy one and it fits perfectly.

The compartment is, indeed, useful for storing a warning triangle. Only Jaguar would think it reasonable to supply a car at that price with a special compartment for a warning triangle and then not include one. Switzerland actually requires you to have a triangle available 'within easy reach' so not buried in the boot.

As you observe, it is too small for most warning triangles. Presumably Jaguar sell one, but I just bought a cheap one on-line. See https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001LZ8NKM. It just fits in the compartment as long as you discard the case.

So weird and not funny how different it is per country.
Mine in NL came with warning triangle.

The EU is arranging/mandating so much, why not mandate that each sold car (new or 2nd hand via business) in EU must have warning triangle, first aid kit, 2 high visibility vest, window hammers, spare tyre or tyre kit and a tow hook.

Mine came with both Jaguar triangle and first aid kit, the triangle does not fit though.

Same here. Actually, we are required to carry 2 triangles, one for the front too... Fun fact, in some countries (including mine), the law requires to have spare bulbs! What should we carry? I just put a bulb kit in the trunk for fun!

The reason I asked the question was that the Jaguar part (Supplied with the car) PN T2H7754 does not fit.

Why buy a cheap one which does not fit when you can buy the real thing which also does not fit, https://www.jaguarparts.com/oem-parts/j ... le-t2h7754  But hurry, it is on sale.
