Park Pawl Update

Post by R32Paul » Tue Mar 09, 2021 8:12 pm

Hi folks,

Car going to dealer next week for two year service.

Dealer rang back to say they need it for 13hrs to do a park pawl update. Anyone aware what this campaign might be. Service adviser couldn’t provide a number.

No issues with the car thus far other than the 12V issue.
Bog standard White I-Pace S ordered 24/09/18, delivered 29/03/19.

Had mine in for it's first service last week on a waiting appointment. I was in & out in 90 minutes & there was no mention of 13 hours. It seems very odd that any Jaguar dealership would do that much work for just over £200!

According to Topix the campaign is 'H288 Parking Lock Actuator', but i don't have further details. My car also went in for the two year service, but I guess my dealer forgot to mention this campaign, because I cannot find a record of the fix for my car in their paperwork. UPDATE: I have just been told that the garage want the car in for a week as it is "a rather large repair", according to the service advisor.

I have just booked mine in for 2 year service and have been advised that they need it for two days for warranty work updates including parking pawl work.

My car's just had its two year service, looks like it will have to go back in at some point to have this done.

Haven't heard anything in Canada about this. My2020. I have to bring mine in for broken charger manual release cable. Will ask.

Not aware that mine has had this, had it's 2 year service last July, and I've had no communication since then, nor any issues with the car..

Mine had it's 2 year service yesterday and there was no mention of the Park Pawl update but now Topix shows H288 Park Lock Actuator so presumably I'll get a call before too long.
When I took the car in I asked about the TCU being on 14.2 although the latest is 19.2 and when I collected it they said they had enabled the OTA updates for me. Sure enough it immediately said an update was available and following the update it is now on 19.2. No idea what the difference is, everything seems to work ok. Oddly WattCat still shows it as 14.2

My sept 2018 is going in on the 12th of April to have H288 done. They have told me to expect the car to be with them for three days. They will also be sticking on the additional door seals and also having a look at the AC as it seems to keep loosing gas but when it is refilled the machine pulls a vacuum so they don't know where it is going. Perhaps that is why they want it for three days and not just two.

Does anyone have open access to Topix to read the full details for the "H288 - PARK LOCK ACTUATOR" campaign? I would be grateful to read it, if it could be posted to the forum, and also to find out whether the front wiring loom is also to be replaced at the same time as a precaution.
