I Pace has LG Batteries Which are Being Replaced in Hyundai Models

Following one of the other forums, there have been a small number of cases of car battery fires in all Hyundai EV models with batteries made by LG. Hyundai Korea are recalling all their LG-powered EVs to swap the batteries for SKs. That is a major and costly undertaking. Not aware of any Hyundai fires in the UK. Nevertheless, I Pace batteries are also made by LG (in Austria). Don't know whether the battery design is the same but not aware of any I Pace problems as of yet.

Thanks for the Info, but in my opinion the topic is misleading.
They use the same manufacturer. We don’t know if it’s the same battery. It could even be a single batch that comes with this fault.

I’ll just relax and let authorities do their thing. If it’s smth they’ll have to recall.

Absolutely agree, this is for info. I haven't heard of any of these types of issues with the I Pace.

The I Pace treats the battery pack like it's made of Fabergé eggs. It could be the same batch of batteries and it's likely that we wouldn't see an issue.

I also have a Kona EV effected with this issue. The battery was not replaced. After they found the serial number on the battery they could determine which software patch was needed to make it safe. Something to do with cell balancing at high charge levels.

Yes, that’s correct.
JLR is too conservative, IMHO.
