There is a great chat in FB (Jaguar IPace discussion group) from someone at Jaguar Land Rover's global product marketing & planning team. His area of speciality is HMI (human machine interface) plus our Infotainment & Sound Systems.
He mentioned that SOTA update can not happen if the car is plugged in to charge, or if there is something plugged in the OBD2 port....

Considering the frequency and the effectiveness of JLR Sota I would say it's not a big problem ;).
We are waiting for big improvement in charging curve, still bugs in Touch Duo Pro and the situation with PiviPro is even worse. We are lucky if we get 3 updates/year so no big deal to unplug the Obd reader for 3 days / year. IMHO of course.

I am curious about your thoughts on this:
I own the German spec EV320. It has same torque, same motors and same battery but less horsepower.
I wonder if the EV400 and Ev320 only have different parameters regarding the driving pedal. I kinda doubt they made a completely new software.

Can we check the power on the wheels compared to % gas pedal?

@EEV320

Send me your VIN in a PM and I'll compare against an EV400 and see what I can find.

@EEV320

I can confirm that EV320 to EV400 is just a configuration change and firmware difference. Also I can see from your VIN that your Max Speed is limited to 112mph (180kph) where-as the EV400 is 124mph (200kph)

Hopefully this information helps.

Wow, thanks for the insight.
The Ev320 is more or less a tax thing. They needed to file a entry level car with a cheaper base msrp to get the economy bonus.
So they had to make it slower even when everything else seems to be the same.
I didn’t care about speed, I almost never go faster than 160. but it would be nice to have that extra hp sometimes.
I wonder if there was a non intrusive way to get that extra hp. But it would have to be easy to „uninstall“ as it’s a lease and will go back in 3 years.

It seemed obvious they wouldn’t make everything new only to get less money. Thanks for your time and help mojo!

Thanks. Just applied to join.

Out of interest, is there a piece of software that you use or is it 'home brewed'?
Same question to Mojo88.

I am really missing Blackbox Faultmate and IIDtool that I used on my Discovery 3s.
I believe there is some Chinese software that is really good but can't track it down.
It would be nice to interrogate battery temperatures, regen rates, charge rates etc.

Stay safe
