SOTA Update Infotainment S20C xxxxx

One reason might be an SOTA update for cars already in use ... i have seen a couple of charging speeds from MY21... yes they can do close to 110kw... but they throttle earlier and faster...
to be honest, MY21 charges slower then my MY20... if you look over it in total...
there are charging rates of 16kw per hour on a 150kw charger ... Battery was cold and around 35% SoC.
Also cold battery (20km driven) at an Ionity charger ended in 39kwh at 45%SoC

The hazard light procedure is still needed for proper 100kw charging... I tested it without and got the throttling after 2 Minutes

Yes I got the email a few days ago and mine only updated last night too (UK), but I was surprised that it was only TCU update to 19.2, whereas the infotainment s/w has stayed at 20B, I thought it was supposed to happen the other way around.

I would be very interested to hear if anyone sees a difference in maximum charging rates after the update.

None of these will change charge rate.
But 19.20 will enable the car to receive updates which can change battery charging logaritms.
The recently released H295 is possibly the one.

Here is the Technical Bulletin for the H295. It looks more like a bug fix rather than an improvement in charging speed or power.
Interesting note in this bulletin:
This bulletin does not apply to any vehicles already registered and in use, either with the retailer
or customer. Any vehicle already in use may continue to be driven and any repair instructions
will be communicated through a separate bulletin.

So this is only the instruction to update new cars at the dealer site prior to sale.

Why are SOTA updates pushed by the dealer? What is the logic? Isn't the whole point of SOTA so that Jaguar can make updates available to all cars at nearly the same time? Or is SOTA just a way for the dealer to make an update without angry customers visiting the workshop?

No idea but Inchcape, Southampton can't be bothered to support their customers so I don't get updates.
