I’m same as Wasabi Pea & Kermit68 - in the UK with 16.2 & instantaneous “no updates available” message (implying it never conducted a remote query).

Hi!

I have 19.2
Got it together with latest infotainment system update.
I’m from Belarus.
Nice to see that you already have the 19.2 in Belarus. And congrats on an EXCELLENT choice of car :D

Thank you for starting this topic.

I'm in the UK, I have 18.2. I've tried the update to 19.2 in the car, it says: Update not available, immediately. That's different from when I check for Infotainment updates when it says: Software is up to date, after checking for some seconds. I think my car can't check for TCU update.
This is not completely true. If you look carefully, you will see a overlay message that stays a fraction of a second and then disappears when you hit the update button.
Here is 2 pics, one just before hitting the update button, and one with the overlay message, just after. It says "looking for update...". So the car "pretends" to do something. It is not saying , blindly, that there is not update.

IPace TCU SOTA.jpg

Regarding communication between vehicle and JLR server, my dealer this week attempted to allow SOTA transfer of the latest TCU version available for my car (18.2 apparently), but could not because the vehicle does not update the Topix page with TCU version - see circled message 'unavailable', so the installed TCU software version is unknown to Topix, although Wattcat shows it as 17.2.
I have had no problem with infotainment updates via SOTA. The explanation may be exactly as RobN posted, the instantaneous denial that you see when checking for TCU updates is a sign that the car fails to pass a key back to the Topix server, so preventing the update.

Got my I-Pace back out of the dealer today.
There is no 19.2 TCU Software available at the moment. Not on SOTA, and also not on Pathfinder tool when car is hooked up to the servers at JLR.
JLR stopped 19.2 for improvements I would say.

Thanks for your input so far.

I’m still on 14.2 - no idea how to upgrade it. The dealer steadfastly ignores my request to bring the software up to date. That said, I can’t see what difference this all makes? What am I missing with 14.2?
Not much in my opinion. As long as you don’t have any problems I advice you to stay at your version. After I got updated from TCU 16.2 to 17.2(could be 18.2) my car have changed when the 12v system is suppose to trickle charge my 12v batteries. At 16.2 it started trickle charging when the voltage dropped below 12.3V. Now it starts at below 12v which was catastrophic for me, since the 12v battery in my car was bad. When the car was suppose to start trickle charge my below 12v battery, the voltage dropped to 6-7V and killed the whole car. It’s happened three times now, so I had to take action and change my battery myself. Problem solved for now.. Service center denied any faults on the battery. This due they only do a crank test, and when the battery is fully charged, the startup amp is fine. Clueless and arrogant. I am in a process in of creating a video to proof how bad the battery is.

Finally someone agree with me. I’ve been saying this for 1,5 years. The car never tries to upgrade the TCU OTA

I agree with you, too. But how do they activate it for all the cars? Again dealer visit for everyone or are they just trying to confuse the owners so that a lot of them are just staying on their current version and keep believing that there will be a OTA for TCU in future (but JLR knows for sure that it will not work and the "check for updates" button is just a nice fake  )...?! Has anyone a source at JLR to give us some hint what they plan?

I've 18.2 and the "check for updates" seems to be not searching for anything and quits within milliseconds with the message no update available.
