You can still build and order on the Jaguar website and I would expect this to be the first place it would be unavailable if it had been discontinued.
And the media who delight in Jaguar bashing would be full of it, too!

My dealer said production will start tomorrow. Magna Werke has already produced MB G-Class for several weeks.

I don't see any likelihood of Jaguar discontinuing the I-Pace any time soon for many reasons (not least that Jaguar have no other BEVs yet). Possibly it's a stunt by Carwow to catch people's attention (maybe unlikely), dealer strategy as others have said, or just a mistake. I suppose the other alternative might be related to a MY21 I-Pace but AFAIK there haven't been any announcements about that.

Whether or not the Magna factory comes back online soon I think if I were a private buyer I'd be negotiating on a stock vehicle - surely there must be some bargains to be had simply due to capital/cashflow reasons :)

My contact in the Executive dept said that they have been back at work in Graz for a couple of weeks. They should be able to transport finished vehicles in the next week.
The transporting of cars wasn't allowed until now, seemingly only food and essential goods, I Paces are obviously not essential goods! The recent gradual opening of frontiers has facilitated this.

All you have to now is find a dealership open and order one at social safe distance!
If you are picking one up I'm sure the PDI will disinfect it completely. Nothing like the smell of Detol in a new car!

Keep safe

Last year MY2020 was delivered to customers already in May. Why is 2021 so delayed compared to last year? It would make sense to start with 2021 after the corona-break..

It could be than dealers really want to sell any cars they still have in stock, rather than customers order a new car with a different configuration that they would need to order anew.[/quote]

I suggested the very same to my better half, car dealers paying a commission to Carwow to promote what they have etc. etc.
They want stock moved, I notice some dealers are lowering their prices slightly on used whilst others are doggedly sticking to the price listed since lockdown!
I'll be willing to bet the value of my part ex will have dropped by each and every one of them during the same time span.

That might have to due with delivery contract signed. If you have a contract with a supplier for certain parts, they would not like you to annul that agreement in order to move on to the latest version. Especially if said supplier has been sitting on items produced but was unable to ship due to the Corona-crisis.

Lot's of products have been sitting in warehouses all over the world and I would think that no manufacturer of seller wants to write that off. So, first ship and sell what you have in stock before you start to start manufacturing new stuff.

Thanks for reply think you may be right to consider cancelling order and reorder for 2021 spec which may not be long as for sure they cannot be that many I pace already completed as dealers haven't that many available so Jaguar will probably announce 2021 spec in the next month or so
