I Pace Discontinued

Post by LKM10 » Sat May 16, 2020 10:58 pm

I have been interested in purchasing an i Pace for a while and so read, watched reviews along with following various forums and FB pages etc. with interest.
Today I received an email from Carwow with i pace offers but just before the offers it stated that new cars could only be purchased from stock, they could not be ordered to individual spec as it has now been 'Discontinued' !!
Anyone else heard of this?

That's a bit harsh - all that's missing is a question mark at the end of the subject line.

Jeez, I didn't realise you had to have correct grammar to avoid a negative comment !!
Obviously a friendly bunch, and it wasn't 'click bait' I was simply asking for owners thoughts!
Maybe this is the wrong forum to be a member of.

AFAIK, the I-Pace certainly is NOT discontinued. With the I-Pace being the first EV from JLR, it is a important testbed to gain experience and collect data.

It could be that the I-Pace is listed as dicontinued because production has been halted due to the effects of the Corona virus. Battery supply has been hampered and that probably goes as well for lots of other parts necessary to build a car.

Ah MvM,
A good response with a common sense reason!
Thats the type of answer I was looking for rather than the initial 'Very poor' response I initially got.
Still it takes all sorts!

No problem ;)

It could be than dealers really want to sell any cars they still have in stock, rather than customers order a new car with a different configuration that they would need to order anew.

As an owner and driver of a beuatiful I-Pace and having just past the 10K miles mark, I can only say that I am very happy with the car. It drives wonderfully, is quick and very agile when I want it to be (more so than you would expect from a car this size & weight), and very comfortable in all other circumstances.

Have had no issues at all and I am still glad I did not go for the more mundane Tesla Model 3. The I-Pace simply has a lot more what I would call 'road-presence' than any Tesla and though I don't really need that, it is nice to have.

It was a attention getting new thread.

Carwow website Is not working today so it may be that offers for Jaguars have been withdrawn until supply holdups have been sorted out, no point paying Commission to Carwow if you can’t build the cars.

You can still build and order on the Jaguar website and I would expect this to be the first place it would be unavailable if it had been discontinued.
