A am down to test a tracking system. You should however let the user decide if they want to use the feature or not. Also be able to delete saved trips later. Don’t forget GDPR! There should also be a easy way to delete all data about myself on the server if one should want to...
You also should have the data encrypted on the server. No need to make a honeypot to hackers.

So the approach mentioned above would be to use the data from HERE API, so like we do now with JLR API, the app still wouldn’t have a server component :)

Wow, well that simplify things :)

Any chance you could add my position in regards to my cars position in the map?

I also would like to be able to beep and blink the car with the watch app. 😎

Hi
Regarding the Camping Mode I was wondering how reliable this would be to leave my Dogs in the Car for short periods and keep the car cool? What’s people’s experiences of it how reliable is it?

Hi johnnyhush,

App ver 0.1(27) updated OK on iPad mini.

Car and iPad location works well in southern hemisphere!

Cheers, Steve

Hi Nikola.

Everything in 27 would seem to work flawlessly, brilliant thanks.
Apple watch shows miles, big tick!
Re tyre pressures, I see you have added 3 psi to the API readings which means my pressures are almost identical to the true tyre pressure, thanks for that.
Re your comments regarding battery depletion, I think that the TCU battery will flatten if left sending data. If it is the same as the RR Evoque then that battery only is charged when the engine is running. If that transfers to the I-Pace then it will only charge when the ignition is on.
On the Evoque charging the 12v car battery did not charge the TCU battery surprisingly. Could someone confirm this is the case with the I-Pace?
This is the fundamental reason the car goes to sleep after a few days whether on charge or not.

Keep safe

Thanks Ian! Unfortunately I cannot confirm this with certainty, but it's better safe than sorry :)

What I've noticed is when the ignition is off and the car is not charging & I keep constantly refreshing car data, the 12V voltage will start to go down slowly. That's something to keep in mind.

MyPace will constantly refresh car data while open and active, unlike the official Remote app. The main reason for that is to try and always show up to date info while the app is open. The official app often says the car is unlocked even though it is locked, and many other examples where the data is simply outdated.

Just to clarify, the 12V accessory battery (the traditional 12V) will top up whether or not the car is connected to a charger. You will see it gradually drop when using the app but when it drops below the set threshold the HV battery will then top it up.

However, unless they’ve changed anything recently the TCU battery doesn’t top itself up. That one can potentially drain itself which is why, as Ian said, the car goes to sleep after 4 days. As I say, it’s entirely possible they’ve changed this behaviour in one of the recent campaigns, but if so they haven’t passed that fact on.

The one thing I’m not certain of is if there is a threshold SOC below which the car will stop trying to top up the 12V whilst switched off and not plugged in. I haven’t heard of that, but it’s entirely possible. As you say, probably better safe than sorry!

Interesting, it'd be great to know when is the TCU battery being recharged.
