I wrote a separate email complaining about the shoddy/poor service to the old dealership and included the JLR customer services/complaint department.

There was a number of emails afterwards from JLR customer services asking me various questions and promising to follow up my complaint. I didn’t hear back from either and then all of a sudden a month before the service was due on the Evoque, the Lookers service manager emailed me and said there has been changes and they want me to go back to them. I thought it was all to convenient not contacting me for months and then emailing me when the service was due.

I‘ve never gone back and in fact recommended 2 of my friends buying JLRs not to buy from there.

OK, so an update on the lack of the SOTA for 20A (and now 20B). I've also noticed that my Telematics is 16.2 whereas I think 18.2 is the latest version.

After numerous calls and emails to JLR Reading they suggested I speak to JLR themselves. So I called the customer experience helpline and then emailed the person there. He then got in contact with a specialist (I assume maybe in Austria) who replied with the slightly confusing:
"This should update via SOTA,
However the software are at a low level so SOTA will not work,
This needs to go into the retailer for the software to be updated"


I then spoke to JLR Reading again who again tried to confirm that I had outstanding software updates which I told them they would not find. They informed me that they can't book it in without a software update to put it against... ARGHHH!

So now I have forwarded the email from JLR to JLR Reading and wait with bated breath.

There is something to be said for the Tesla model here!

Going from 16.2 to 18.2 fixed a lot of slow issues for me. My dealer told me three times I had the latest updates According to their systems. I showed him 18.2 was available and I Demanded it

How do you mean it fixed slow issues? Infotainment, the car itself, charging, etc?
