..I cannot see why anyone other than a city car driver would choose the Audi over an I Pace.
Possible reasons:
1- The E-Tron is bigger (slightly)
2- The E-Tron is an Audi

Although I personally don't agree with either, you can see why the some would.

Well, the Etron is bigger in the rear luggage area, but the retracting cover has a big lip that gets in the way unless the cover is removed completely. The frunk isn't any larger, but the bonnet is much longer than the I Pace. In terms of passenger space the I Pace is better.
Regarding the brand thing I agree, there will be people who buy the Etron for the image, like the cage fighter in the fossil Audi who rapped on the window of my Discovery last week because I had the temerity to take my turn in merging traffic. He threatened me for pulling out 'because he was looking the other way'. When I suggested he use the windscreen to look where he was going he started effing and blinding but stopped short of punching me through the open window. It's always an Audi driver.....

Not always, BMW drivers deserve some credit. ;)

Ah, that is a good point. On the Ionity at MK the Audi supped 65.338 KW to 100% charge in 36 minutes 31 seconds. That's about 80% of usable capacity. It would take the I Pace an hour to do that. On the other hand, the vast majority of chargers are 50kW which evens the charge rate.
As the availability of 150KW chargers improves it might tip the scales in favour of the Audi, but remember the car only covers about 140 miles with 65KW whilst the I Pace can go 50 miles further. That makes all the difference because at 50 mph average with a 250 mile starting range the I Pace will go 350 miles with an en-route 30 minute charge whilst the Audi can only manage about 290. Only on journeys of more than about 450 miles would the Audi catch up but then it would have stopped two more times than the I Pace and charge time does not necessarily equate to the overall time taken to break the journey. It also assumes that every charger it stops at has 150KW capacity.

Thought I'd add to this post, sat in an E-Tron for first time today, loved the interior and the infotainment system was amazing, exterior thought lools very dated compared to an ipace, was with a friend and he was building ome to buy, I must say was shocked with how many options that are standard with the iPace were charged as optional extas.

That was my first impression too, but live with the Etron for a while and it becomes really annoying. The I Pace infotainment system may be a bit casual, but it’s stress-free and, well, gentlemanly. The Audi is manic by comparison. The one thing I liked about the Etron was that it was better behaved on uneven surfaces. I guess this is down to weight, but the I Pace does reveal its concentration of mass in the floor pan and you can feel every pebble. The I Pace is definitely at the sports saloon end of the class whilst the Audi is SUV.

They must have plenty of time to post during those charging stops.
