And the new integrated motors are more efficient and have much lower friction losses. No doubt that next year will be a big step up for JLR’s electric products.

Much lower loss? Thought the efficiency was already at 95-98%...

There is a new motor with integrated controller that apparently has better friction performance and is more efficient. It’s destined for the XJ but I believe they will use it across the line, particularly as the rear power for the next I Pace which will have 500bhp performance. There is also a 110KWh battery, although I don’t know if that is intended only for the larger vehicles in the JLR range or for the I Pace too. They will certainly use that in Land Rover cars.
Personally I think a bit more power at the rear axle on the I Pace will improve handling. For me it’s a bit front wheel happy when putting power down out of turns or when fast overtaking.

Just give me the "attack mode" and I'd be more than happy. It sure proves that the excisting motors can deliever far more than 150kw.

Thank you very much for the explanation. I think it should be added to the summary of I-Pace tips.

Hi Captain

Sounds like this would be a good investment - I have my iPace coming in March.

Where is the best place to get a unit from ?

Saves a bit over amazon's price especially if your credit card doesn't charge when buy in Euros!
