Mirror dip in reverse

Post by wmd_IP » Thu Nov 21, 2019 10:29 am

In the convenience features I have the mirror set to dip when in reverse. It used to work fine, however I have now noticed that it is only dipping a tiny bit, maybe an inch, whereas before it would dip right down.

I have recently added the 360 view to the rear view camera screen. Is it possible the mirror doesn't dip when setup like this? (Theory being the camera is on the base of the mirror).

On other Jags I've had it was possible to adjust the mirror when dipped, and it would remember that setting. Not sure if the i-Pace will do that, but it's worth a try. ;)

I'm not sure about that theory WMD, however I do know you can adjust how much it dips quite easily by manually adjusting the mirror while in reverse. Next time you use it, it will dip to where you left it last time.

Edit as SCM says, yes it does the same on the I Pace

OK cheers guys, I'll give that a go. One question though, do I have to memorise the position manually by using the memory seat settings, when in reverse?

No, it does it for you.

My experience is that the car only permanently remembers the reverse mirror position if you press the "M"emory button and a corresponding number while the vehicle is still in reverse.

With me, at least, the car remembered the reverse mirror setting only for a couple weeks before forgetting, repeatedly. Once I used the memory button, the setting stuck. IIRC the manual also says to use the memory button too, but evidently like most things i-Pace, there is no consistent experience between cars.

This was a brilliant tip, thank you. I was also unaware that you could set the mirror dip state for reverse.
