do you guys find that 5hrs per night on Octopus is enough?

I have a 7kW charger at home which I had installed with my 330e, how much charge will this give the I-Pace in the 5hrs Octopus allow at cheap rate? (I'm assuming a theoretical maximum of 7kW x 5hrs = 35 kWh, but what is it in reality?)

Thanks!

I've been using Octopus for a while now, their cheap rate is 00:30 to 04:30 so 4 hrs. In that time my charger delivers 7Kw X 4hr = 28KWh. Less than this is delivered to the battery but I normally manage about 30% charge in the 4 hours.

I met with ABB France today and they told me to have launched a few months ago a DC Wallbox 25KW for less than 10k€ . A good bargain for a business including JLR dealers

Just in the process of switching to EDF GoElectric. I did consider Octopus Go, but with two EVs to charge the 4 hour off peak window was too short. EDF GoElectric have a 10hr Monday to Thursday night plus all weekend from Friday night to Monday morning off peak. Not as cheap as Octopus (8p v 5p) but overall cheaper when factoring in the additional time at off peak and needing to charge to cars.

Octopus are great and I definitely recommend them. They applied my referral credit quickly and the switch wasn't painful at all (had some bad ones in the past) you can use my referral to get £50 credit when you switch here or you can sign up through this website

Hi and welcome to the Ipace Forum Coggeshallman

I had a new Ipace last December. Took a bit of research to find. Pod Point and Octopus Energy. Octopus will work with or without a smart meter but needs 100amp supply. With smart meter you can see your daily usage and manage your electric bill easily.
I had a Pod Point charging point unit fitted at my home, see link below.

https://pod-point.com/solutions/driver/home-charging

All was dealt with via the phone and email. Install was smooth and no issues.

We married up to that an Octopus Go tariff for EV's. 5p a KW between 12.30am - 4.30am.
Again the swap to this tariff went smoothly.

If interested take a look at this offer to have £50 off the Octopus Go tariff.

Try symbio their flat rate is as low as some overnight rates

I’m considering octopus- but I don’t have or want a smart meter

Their smart tariff may change my stance though
