September 2018, only needed to charge about a dozen times ‘in journey’ using Ecotricity chargers - 100% success rate.

i believe mine was built feb/march 2019.
we have a lot of those style chargers in Milton Keynes (most of the rapids around the town) and i can confirm 100% failure rate.

Dealer has had the car for about 4 weeks in total trying to resolve and got nowhere.

however their grey demo car which was built in 2018 had a 100% success rate.
We even went in the two cars and tried them within seconds of each other.
theirs charged mine wouldnt.

very frustrating

Thank you gt03raf, can you confirm the first paragraph should read « unsuccessful » rather than « successful »?

My car was built Jan 19. I have tried 4 different Ecotricity chargers. Only one (Winchester Services south) was successful and that was a few weeks after I got the car (March 2019). The three failures, one at South Mimms and the two CCS units at Birchanger near Stansted were in June 19, I have avoided Ecotricity since then. Car software is always updated ASAP.

It's not statistically relevant yet but there seems to be a difference between 2018 models and 2019 models:

2018
"September 2018, only needed to charge about a dozen times ‘in journey’ using Ecotricity chargers - 100% success rate."
"Late 2018 (November I think). 100% success rate with ecotricity (around 10 charging sessions or so)."

2019
"2019 but not much luck with those chargers. I'd guess 15-20% success."
"My car was build in April 2019 / 100% Unsuccessful"
"February 2019. 100% unsuccessful."
"July 2019 - 25% success rate based on half a dozen attempts."

I hope we can get more feedback and hopefully identify something Jaguar changed in the 2019 models so we can ask them to fix it.
Mine was built Feb 2019 and has been almost 100% successful which disagrees with your list above.
Driving "Hirundo Rustica" since 15th Mar 2019. Lovely Jubbly :D :D

Here is a summary of the findings/feedback in this discussion (so far):

MY19 I-Pace: 100% Success rate
"September 2018, only needed to charge about a dozen times ‘in journey’ using Ecotricity chargers - 100% success rate."
"Late 2018 (November I think). 100% success rate with ecotricity (around 10 charging sessions or so)."
“Grey demo car which was built in 2018 had a 100% success rate.”

MY20 I-Pace: 0-25% success rate except for 1 owner
"Feb 2019 and has been almost 100% successful"
"2019 but not much luck with those chargers. I'd guess 15-20% success."
"My car was build in April 2019 / 100% Unsuccessful"
"February 2019. 100% unsuccessful."
"July 2019 - 25% success rate based on half a dozen attempts."
“feb/march 2019. I can confirm 100% unsuccess rate.”
“Jan 19. I have tried 4 different Ecotricity chargers. Only one was successful”

I hope we can get more feedback but from the results so far there is an issue with the MY20. I don’t know if they changed the software or some hardware but JLR made a change which is negatively impacting 2019 I-Pace owners.

Until today I was angry at Ecotricity but clearly, they have nothing to do with this and it should be down to Jaguar to fix this ASAP. They must know what changes they made on the MY20 productions which impacted the charging. The most significant comment is from gt03raf and his MY20 I-Pace:

"Dealer has had the car for about 4 weeks in total trying to resolve and got nowhere. However their grey demo car which was built in 2018 had a 100% success rate.We even went in the two cars and tried them within seconds of each other. Theirs charged mine wouldnt."

I estimate that 40% of the UK fast chargers (50KW) are Ecotricity like chargers and it’s probably close to 80% in France. Imagine buying a petrol car and the dealer saying “on the 2020 model you will no longer be able to used 50% of the petrol stations out there…” On the bright side, it adds value to the used 2018 I-Pace... 😊

Any thoughts? Ideas?
