Not much to update on this - my lease provider are arguing the case with Jaguar and the dealer itself.

When the dealer called me (only in response to my negative review on Google) he was the most annoying person I've ever spoken to on the phone, constantly saying "yep, yep, yep, yep, yep" the entire time I was talking. Like, every few seconds. And he was the business manager or something or other. I felt like saying "shut the f*ck up and stop talking over me!!"

Hopefully I'll have something back soon, as I just can't bear looking at it at the moment and it just doesn't feel like my car because I have no idea what the heck is going to happen with it. Ho hum... :(

OK, so Jaguar Corporate just called me. They're now looking into my complaint and seemed pretty shocked by the treatment I've had since owning the car. I'm promised an update on Friday, so fingers crossed I'll hear something back this time, now that Corporate are involved. 8-)

Good luck RJUK, hopefully it will all get sorted for you

The lady who rang me seemed to actually "get it" unlike the dealer. She didn't seem impressed from the start when I mentioned that the car had to be shipped off to Taunton for the repairs because Bristol don't have an I-Pace specialist and Bath had a note on the system saying they didn't want to take any more I-Paces!

I'm looking to reject the car entirely, so these guys are the best people to speak to. I honestly don't think I'll be happy with the rectification they offer on this car, so I don't seem to have any other option.

We'll see what they offer though. If I do reject it, I have no idea what I'll do whilst I wait for a new car to come. Just get a cheap winter beater, I guess.

OK, so finally an update on this...

Jaguar called me today to say that my rejection of the car has been agreed!

This is good news in a way, as I've got a test drive booked in a Tesla Model 3 Performance for Saturday, but also a bit of a "yikes" moment, as I'm unlikely to be able to get one much before February.

So we'll see how that goes. If I like it I could be driving one of those soon, or if I don't like it I could be placing an order for another I-Pace (that hopefully won't leak), or holding on for a Polestar 2.

I've recently been thinking "I'll miss this car if it goes" when I have Google Maps Navigation come on in the morning showing me the quickest route to work, and when I'm kicking under the rear bumper to open it to put stuff in the boot with my hands full...

...then I hook my phone up to play music and Amazon Music refuses to work whilst it's connected to the car, or the volume control only allows me to adjust the navigation volume, even if I'm not using navigation, or the instrument cluster decides it's not going to display album art or even the song/artist info and I end up wanting to put my fist through the infotainment screen.

Anyway, I'll report back once I've driven the Tesla. Hopefully it'll be more watertight than my I-Pace...

Hopefully is quite right. I've read that Tesla has forbidden to put cars trough a car wash because they might leak :)

Well that much doesn't bother me, as I'd never subject my car to the torture of a car wash, but I will be regularly using the jet wash on it, so any leaks will become apparent quite quickly!

I think if they were leaking we'd have seen more about it on the Tesla forums. Whilst I've seen many complaints on there, water leaks wasn't one of them.

Yesterday on my way home I plugged my phone in to use Android Auto as usual and the I-Pace's main infotainment screen just stayed black for my whole drive. The bottom bar was visible, but the menu button was unresponsive so I couldn't even quit AA to put the radio on or view the 360 camera or use any other function of the car.

Weirdly, the notifications icon still worked and showed a red dot when a Whatsapp came in, and even allowed me to have the messages read out and respond to them, but no navigation or anything else displayed on the main screen.

Lex rang me this morning to confirm the contract termination and a goodwill gesture of £50 for the hassle caused whilst Jag Taunton had it.

We're now working out the logistics of taking my private plate off the car before it goes back and hopefully refunding me for the car mats and sim card that I bought.

What a fiasco!

Now I just need to find something to tide me over between the I-Pace going back and the arrival of whatever I decide to order next.

Suggestions for most entertaining car under 5 grand?! I don't want to spend much, as I only need something for 3 months approx.

Sounds like I'd have to be pretty brave to get one of those at under 5k!

I think the problem is that anything under 5k that's actually interesting will also be a pain to sell on.

Great news that you have actually got a resolution to your tales of woe RJUK, such a shame that it has been enough ( understandably ) to push another one of the I-pace stalwarts off to the oppo
I am pleased that my car has been generally problem free after my original issue as I really don't know what I would go for, I really don't like the Tesla s much, I love the looks and drive of my Jag and hope it stays that way.
Good luck wherever you may end up
