Found a timed charging related logical bug which was fixed and pushed out today with version 1.2.2! :) Please update before testing out the timed charging feature.

Thanks ardevd for the continued support with this app, much appreciated. I am currently on v1.2.0, don't seem to be able to update further yet, however,, timed charging is now showing and I can set start and end times in the app, have yet to try it though and just waiting for the latest update to 1.2.2 before I do.

Am I right in thinking that once in the latest update you will be able to set start and end of charging periods without any input being required within the car eg no need to set departure times etc?

Correct. The timed charging implemention is entirely controlled by your phone through WattCat. It's a simple implementation and your phone needs to be on and connected to the internet for it to work ;)

Suggestion: How about give an info on estimates time until my set max of charge would be reached? I see the app tells me when it’s estimated to be 100%, but not my set max state of charge. Would be nice to know.
Cheers!

Hi ardevd, v1.2.2 looks great, but there is a bug on the Charging Logs Data Points graph and logged texts.

On opening any previously completed Charging Log the graph and the logged text will have 2 additional new entries, with the time/date stamp showing the present time that updates in real time.

These 2 new entries are visible on any previous log:
"
Day xx:xx..............................30 km per hour @ 40.0 kW
60%................................................................... 60.00 kWh
"

Day xx:xx..............................30 km per hour @ 30.0 kW
50%................................................................... 50.00 kWh
"

I hope this description helps you.

Cheers, Steve

Ardevd

Just been trying the timed timed charging on WattCat. I am on version 1.2.3 - I set the timer to commence at 00:01 hrs and finish at 06:00 hrs, I then plugged the car in and Enabled the timed charging in the app. The car starts charging straight away. So I stopped it and set it all up again, but this time I Enable the timed charging first and then plug the car in, again it starts charging straight away. I tried this a few times using different methods but it starts to charge immediately each time. I started trying this at 15:00 hours, with my timed start time at 00:01 each time.

The last time I pressed pause in the app and it now shows charging as Paused, I have no idea if it will actually start at 00:01 or not. Is there something I am doing wrong here or is there a fault somewhere?

Thanks
Chris

You're not doing it wrong but your expectations are probably incorrect. WattCat can't magically detect when you plug in the car. If you have enabled timed charging and plug in the car before timed charging is set to start you might have to wait up until an hour before charging is actually paused. Just plug it in and let it be and see what happens ;) alternatively you can pause the charging manually right away and WattCat will take care of the rest.

Makes sense?
