Car needs to be on and have a data signal in order to receive any pushed SOTA.
But can I still monitor the car through in control app if it’s off and on WiFi?
No. In order for WiFi to function the ignition needs to be on.

SOTA has to be downloaded with ignition on, can be installed without that connection
Thanks for the update and such a shame Jaguar haven’t thought of this in an otherwise brilliant car.

Thanks for the replies. What I’m really after is a way to monitor the car (ie lock doors, see remaining charge etc) when the car is In the underground carpark rather than do updates which I can do outside the car so it looks like the WiFi won’t be the right solution then. Seems strange that jaguar haven’t thought of this?
It is possible to do that : my car is in a parking level -4 and I can monitor it without problem

Thanks. How do you do it then? Does your car park have mobile signal booster or do you connect via WiFi? The app can not locate my car when I am underground as there is no mobile signal. Our flat is not near the carpark.

This is what I understand, - the car needs to be in an area where it can receive and transmit mobile data for use with the InControl app.
It is possible for this to work underground providing a mobile signal (not wi-fi) can get through, however, if not
you will be unable to communicate via the app.
Delivered March2019. MY19 I Pace SE Corris Grey, black pack, privacy glass, black wheels, pano roof, 0-60 4.5secs - No spare wheel due to the ridiculous storage solution.

This is what I feared! Seems such a shame that the car can’t connect to WiFi as I can’t be the only one with an underground carpark and a developer unwilling to invest in mobile boosters!

The drain on the 12V battery would be huge. It gets switched off with the ignition because the HV battery stops charging the 12V battery when the ignition is off.

Never thought of this. Thanks.

I guess i am lucky because on top of the parking there are gardens and therefore the app can locate the car just by using the Jaguar SIM card. My flat must be less than one km away from the car

Does it mean the car turns itself on if you use climate remotely? I’ve done it several times now when the car was unplugged, and according to the app the aircon eats from the main battery as the SoC decreases. Also when the battery is 20% or less the climate refuses to turn on remotely and the app complains the SoC is too low (annoying too as the climate only eats couple of %)

Yes, I believe the HV battery is used during cabin preconditioning. However, as far as I know it doesn’t charge the 12V battery until the “ignition” is switched on.
