Another 17 miles then 300 miles range is cracked

Post by Chewy » Tue May 14, 2019 9:32 pm

I had a 283 miles round trip today and managed it in a single charge (just).

Just need to find another 17 miles to crack the 300 miles range.

Congrats!

Incidentally, your photo proves the incorrectness of the kWh/100mi figure. May I assume that you started with a full tank of gas, all ~84kWh of it?
Let's say you actually used 80, to be generous.
27.2kWh/100miles * 2.83 * 100miles = 27.2 kWh * 2.83 = 77kWh
The error is not huge because you probably drove fairly constant speed with little variation in consumption.

Yep, started out with 100%SoC. Forgot to precondition. How can they get such a simple calculation wrong?

Wow! The best i've managed so far is 19 kWh per 100 kms - or about 30 per 100 miles. That's using Eco, but all highway driving and in weather of 10C.

I've given up on kWh/100miles completely and banished the Eco Data icon from my home screen....

I did manage a new record on my regular 45km commute of 16.4kWh/100km a couple of weeks ago on a pleasantly warm morning, but since then the temps have dropped here in Melbourne so the economy has suffered a bit.

I do admit it is dull as anything driving like that though, so weekend driving is Dynamic mode all the way!

With the warmer weather on the way it looks like you will crack it, great job.
