What Dan means to say is:

- currently your I-PACE can not receive OTA updates even though you have the setting enabled in your car
- in order to be able to receive OTA updates you first have to get the InControl (IMC) software of your I-PACE updated at your retailer - to version 19A
- in order to reset the system to a state that OTA can start working, the retailer has to set OTA to ‘switched off’ in your I-PACE (the setting in the Software Updates acreen) - this will reset the account I assume
- once you have your I-PACE back from the workshop, you will swiitch OTA on again accepting the terms, setting your PIN etc - the dealer can not do this end user action for you as it requires your consent (again)
- now OTA will be enabled and switched on with end user consent

Thank God someone can communicate clearly, thanks Martijn 👍

Im so confused right now...
The retailer will then deactivate Software Updates, should a customer wish to reactivate it, they can choose to accept the terms and conditions.
So OTA updates are disabled by default and the customer has to actively engage with the retailer to activate it?

EDIT: Saw the explanation above. A bit ridiculous but oh well.

Martijn or Dan just to clarify what does this mean for those of us on 18D do we need 19a before we get SOTA updates?
My company car is a Firenze Red I-Pace HSE with Black Trim, HUD, Cold Weather Pack and Fog Lights.

Well I'm really confused my car received SOTA update last Saturday, when it downloaded and installed on the drive S18C_18.37.1-222709, or has it all changed/been suspended since then?
It updated my previous version of S18C_18.37.1-222737, to 709 I know an older version, chaos at JLR!

I'm also wondering why anyone thinks it's a good idea to support installation of OTA updates while the car is driving. Unless OTA updates are not supported for critical systems such as the drive unit, battery control module, etc.

That’s indeed very strange. An OTA ‘downdate’ instead of an update...

It’s only the infotainment system that can be updated whilst using the car. The other modules render the car unusable whilst the car is updating.
