Order new ipace se

Post by Rhinoboy15 » Fri Jun 26, 2020 6:46 pm

We have just ordered our first ev😊.
Ipace se in Corris grey, sunroof and heated seats. Got a good price for 3yr contract hire from Arval.
Should be arriving in 3weeks!
Any tips on home chargers. I have a 45amp supply to my garage already and expect to connect to this.
Do chargers require any further cabling to meter?
Can't wait to take delivery👍

I hope you got the 2021 model. If not, I'd hold out for that!

Hi and Welcome! I am waiting delivery of mine next Tuesday and got Pod-Point charger...to be installed...
I was told minimum 60amp required but ai might be wrong.

I don’t think the MY21 is in production before July.

Power supply to the garage will be an extension of the house supply, the house supply needs to be 80 amp so that the car charger does not leave too little capacity for the house. The cable size to the garage needs to be large enough to carry 40amps continuously without overheating.
Your electrician will tell you what is needed, also in the UK your grid connector needs to be notified that you want to connect a car charger.

Yes, try and check if you have a 2021 model year on order or a previous version. The new model year (MY2021) has been announced and it has some enhancements. You’ll know if it is MY2021 because the infotainment system would be called Pivi Pro and not Touch Duo Pro.

Simplest way to check is look at the 10th digit of the VIN - if it's L it's 2020 MY, and M for 2021. Jaguar usually starts producing new MYs around March of the previous calendar year, though the Austria plant may be different.

Hi and welcome to the Ipace Forum Rhinoboy15.

I had a new Ipace last December. Took a bit of research to find. Pod Point and Octopus Energy. Octopus will work with or without a smart meter but needs 100amp supply. With smart meter you can see your daily usage and manage your electric bill easily.
I had a Pod Point charging point unit fitted at my home, see link below. Pod Point sorted the grants out.

https://pod-point.com/solutions/driver/home-charging

All was dealt with via the phone and email. Install was smooth and no issues.

We married up to that an Octopus Go tariff for EV's. 5p a KW between 12.30am - 4.30am.
Again the swap to this tariff went smoothly.

If interested take a look at this offer to have £50 off the Octopus Go tariff.

The other option maybe EDF GoElectric which gives you 8p per kW from 9pm to 7am daily and throughout the weekend.

https://www.edfenergy.com/electric-cars/tariffs

Exact tariff: https://www.edfenergy.com/sites/default ... g_21_0.pdf

Although slightly dearer than Octopus, it does mean that you can use the 8p per kW for other things during the evening and the weekends.

Another vote for the EDF tariff. We have been on it since late last year and the flexibility of the 10 hours during weekdays and 24 hours at the w/e seems worth a few extra pence. Having said that we have got PV and a Tesla Powerwall. Our actual electricity costs over the last three and a half months has coming to a staggering £2.59. I know that might seem a lot but EDF will also be paying us over £800 for the PV generation for the last 3 months once we submit our FiT later tonight.
