Build Date received for new I-Pace

Post by Trigger » Sun May 26, 2019 3:31 pm

Been hanging around for a while and appreciating all the useful information from everyone here. Thank You.

Just received my build date in late June and should have my i-Pace in mid-July. Ordered my home charger and started counting down the days. Photon Red HSE with pano roof. Can’t wait to start enjoying EV driving and understanding the KwH conversation for real.

Has anyone done the Williams Ceramic protection? Is it worth it or is it better to find a specialist who will prepare car better first & use other products?

Hi and welcome (though I'm pretty new here myself!).

When did you place your order? Trying to work out when I could expect mine!

Well, if when my leasing company said "your chosen vehicle has been secured" they meant the dealer had placed my order, then that was on 30th April, 1 day before yours, so fingers crossed for mid-July too - maybe our photon red HSEs will be built alongside each other ;)

That'll be cool - the production line staff will all be wearing Sunglasses

If I remember correctly the car is due at the Dealer on 12th July, I ordered F-Pace first as I had charge/range worries (daily 120 mile round trip to work with regular evening journeys leaving little time to recharge) but quickly changed my mind and decided to take risk investing in the future as I am sure petrol prices will rise and charging points are only going to increase. Dealer has kept F-Pace as sure of selling, so they keep feeding me wrong car info so I am a bit confused but they are due within a week of each other.

My IPACE is due next week. I've noticed a lot of discussion on Software Updates being either loaded or not loaded on the car. Should I be checking the car has a specific software version when taking delivery? If so does anyone know what those specific versions are?

I think you should ask if Update H228 has been applied. It’s a big update and I had to leave my car with the dealer all day despite it being only 5 days from delivery. This update was released on 2nd July. 2 days after my delivery. Ahhhh.
I Pace HSE, Indus Silver, Black Pack. Pano roof. Oyster/Black. Privacy glass. 22in 5056 Alloys. Air suspension. Delivered 30th June 19.

A very late reply to your question but wondered if my experience is of any help. I wanted to ceramic coat our car and was offered a VERY expensive service from the supplying garage that I turned down -hundreds of pound to polish a new car - I don’t think so. I asked Dr Google and he came up with range of local car cleaners - sorry “detailers”. All seems a bit anal to me and no special deals for a new car. We were in the States last week and I bought some ceramic coating off Amazon - a whole $34. The car spent its first week and a bit of out ownership in the Short Stay car park at Heathrow. So was a bit dusty when to got home. I gave it a very good wash this morning and then rinsed and dried it thoroughly before applying the ceramic counting. All very easy and the car looks spectacularly sparkling. Follow the instructions in the pack or the instructional videos on You Tube and it is simple - just another car polish - now to see how long it lasts!
