We are pleased to confirm that the Jaguar I-PACE range calculator is now live on the Jaguar website.

This calculator may help all prospective I-PACE customers and current owners understand how factors such as driving profile, temperature, and use of in-car environment settings like air-conditioning, can impact the vehicle’s range.

To use this feature please visit the below link, simply adjust the settings to meet your expected driving profile and discover range capabilities.

It'd be better if it displayed correctly in IE.

(no pointless comments about using other browsers please - many business utilities require IE11 for full compatibility)

Temperature itself seems to have limited impact if AC is off, but with AC on, the impacts are big as temperature gets really cold or warm!!!
  • AC on impacts Urban range much more than Highway range. At -10% Urban drop from 343km to 197km while Highway drops from 255km to 208km
  • Either the calculator has errors or driving faster when it is -10° or 40° with AC on gives you more range?????
  • Combined range with AC on shows higher range than just Urban range for -10° to 0° and 30° to 40°

If it's not too simplistic a question, would be interesting to know what the definition of range is being used here. I'm guessing it's starting with 100% SoC and running down to 0%? But that's not necessarily a good real-world metric in two ways:

First, the jury still seems to be out on whether regularly charging to 100% is prudent on the I-Pace? Maybe it is OK and let me assume it is but I expect that some users might still prefer to use eg 95% as a max SoC.

Second, and probably more important, most users aren't going to want to risk running right down to 0%. If they plan a charging stop on a longer trip then surely they have to factor in that a given rapid charging location might be unavailable for whatever reason and the next one might typically be at least 20 miles away, given the present state of chargers in more rural parts of the UK at least.

So the best estimate of reliable range could be eg 20 miles less than the figures quoted?

If only Microsoft weren't so arrogant, and followed standards, eh? ;)

I’m kind of shocked that a car driven on 18” wheels no A/C in 20degrees loses almost 100miles range between motorway and urban when the motorway average was given as 57mph. I thought that was a conservative speed to drive. I guess when you compare it to JLRs average urban speed of just 17mph then maybe it makes sense.
