Charging stopping

Post by Coggeshallman » Sat Aug 10, 2019 4:05 pm

My I Pace is 10 days old and twice now it has stoped charging (on the 13amp home charger as still waiting for UK Power Networks to upgrade a fuse for my wall charger) the first time at 94% and the second time at 72% on both occasions unlocking the car and unplugging it and then re connecting it started the charging again. I also have the creep switching off problem.
I was invited to Jaguar at Castle Bromwich for an introduction to my car which I did and when I told them my problems they said H 228 will cure all that however my dealer tells me that H228 does not apply to my car and they will need the car for 3 days to test it! It almost beggars belief that they can sell you a car that has faults that should have been corrected long before the car was sold. My VIN ends 83154

Long shot (unless this is a known fault?) : Does the 13 AMP plug get warm? If so it is likely straining the circuit and that may cause car to detect problem and terminate the charge.

This is quite correct - The Jaguar 13A Granny charger has temperature detection on the 13A plug pins, and will shut down if these detect over-temperature conditions in the plug. If the mains socket connections are not high quality, the plug can get warm after significant running time draining at 10Amps.

Interesting comment because i have noticed that the plug (13amp) does get slightly warm (not hot) and i have to confess that the sockets in my garage are about 30 years old, however having said that it has since charged to 100% with no issues. i should have my main fuse upgrade on Friday which will allow me to have my wall box fitted.
