Multi-function charging cable

Post by NATO » Sat Mar 10, 2018 8:37 am

Iooking to order a first edition and notice in the standard equipment it comes with a Multi-function charging cable ? Does anyone know if that is a 220/240 13 amp lead to be able to charge your car at home or do you have to get a wall box installed before you receive the car?
I have been running a plug in hybrid for the last two years and have always found the plug in lead sufficient. There used to be a grant available to get a wall box but with my last car I missed the claim date by 1 month so did not bother!

Regards

It comes with two cables. One allows you to charge from a standard 13A socket, the other allows you to connect to certain wall boxes.

The former will be VERY slow to charge; over 30 hours from 0-100%. A 7.4 kW wall box will enable you to charge from 0-100% in around 14 hours.

Hi,
Many thanks for the reply, looks like it will need a wall box fitted to get it to charge overnight.

You may be eligible for a charging point grant. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... -v-2.1.pdf

I'll be going for one of these http://myenergi.uk/
