For anyone who finds this thread in the future, the link above shows a viable ground point, you need a 10mm spanner to get at it, too little space to get a socket set in.

Just to balance the experiences, I had a pod point fitted externally and no earth spike - house is only 2 years old though so may have a split neutral/earth as mentioned previously.

From my one experience of this I think it happens if you change into “gear” before the infotainment has loaded. I now wait for the “disclaimer” text to load before I start moving.
