Re: Why can't the iPace charge at 22kw

I think JLR's primary target was to get a car into the market in 2018, which let them steal a year on Audi and MB, and let I-Pace make more of an impact by being the only game in town to go up against Tesla, and at the same time capture all the awards, which no doubt would have been shared around a ...

Re: First SOTA notification and update this morning

Didn't realise I actually had SOTA enabled yet, but I also received my first OTA update yesterday. InControl updated to: S19A_19.24.2-375121.

I'm not sure what changes were made and I haven't noticed anything in particular, but nice to know SOTA is a reality.

Re: Charge port flap release?

Had a visit from Jaguar Assistance and it turns out the plunger mechanism was stuck. The flap had to be pried open (I don’t know how much force was required) and the mechanism lubricated. All seems ok again. Having taken a chance by arriving at work knowingly without enough charge to get home I am s...

Charge port flap release?

Is anybody aware of a way to manually release the charge port flap? I know about the manual release for the charge cable, but it is the flap that’s not opening.
I’ve tried a forum search but couldn’t find anything.

Re: UK Servicing - actual cost?

Answer to my original query is £275 for 21000 mile service.
This consists of visual inspection and change of brake fluid and top up windscreen washer fluid, not much else.
I’ve seen before that service includes new wiper blades, but mine didn’t.

Re: Realistic Range on 22” wheels

Admittedly my miles on 22" were mostly in the colder weather, but almost never showed as over 200.

Camera calibration after windscreen replacement

Has anybody who has had their windscreen replaced had the cameras recalibrated, and if so where was it done? I had an attempted stone-chip repair carried out to my windscreen yesterday, but it is still highly visible so I have requested a new windscreen. The fitter told me that a) the car will need ...

Why would there be an upper buffer in the battery? (In case the charger overshoots? Or for regen whilst at 100% SOC?)
The battery cells are at their most volatile/vulnerable when they are at either 0% or 100% (absolute) state of charge, so all commercial battery packs will have buffers.

Re: UK Servicing - actual cost?

Yes, it was the “about” that concerned me, but I’ll be booking it this week, probably 3 weeks before they have a slot with courtesy car available.

Re: UK Servicing - actual cost?

According to the dealers in both Milton Keynes and Peterborough I was the first to ask the question and they didn’t have a set service cost immediately to hand, but after checking they came up with “about” £270 for first (21000 mile) service. So it would seem the £191 service that JLR first quoted p...
