Re: Off road driving - specifically mud

I think there are two mud scenarios. One, slippery road. Two, deep mud where you get stuck. Kitty would do great with One because of sophisticated electronics, but like any other heavy car with standard SUV street / size tires and lowish clearance would do poorly in Two.

Re: Battery degraded to 80%

Oh ouch. I agree that does not look good. I agree with Elray and ADD. I would definitely make an appointment with the dealer (which won't happen right away, right?) and noodle it down and charge back up before you bring it in so that you can give them the data. If you can, here's what I would do: 1....

Re: Battery degraded to 80%

Don't freak out yet. Drive it a bunch and charge it again. The I-Pace's battery management system does all sorts of calculations, some of which give weird results at the extremes. In your case, you didn't drive it much so the GoM thinks that you used a lot of energy for those few miles because the l...

Re: Guardian mode

Is it more than what it says: "All remote features are disabled while in Guardian mode"?
Not sure what problem that would solve ... perhaps to thwart hackers that have taken control of your car?

Oh cool, Die Nordschleife! Never been there, would love to go some day. Alas, there's an ocean between it and my kitty cat.

As said unlikely I will be doing it again - this extreme drive was kind of the grand finale of my efficient driving project over the last few months.
Great, now slap it into Dynamic mode and have some real fun!

Re: 556.8km (346m) on Single Charge

Wow. That really is impressive, congratulations! The average speed was not low, which makes it even more inspiring. You did have two advantages: (1) Very little slowing below your ACC-set speed as judged by your average speed, so you had negligible accel/decel cycles. (2) Little measurable climb/des...

Re: WattCat - InControl remote app for Android

My 2020 shows 87.2 kWh right now, fully charged. NB: based on linear correlation, which may not hold on the top and bottom ends, on both my former 2019 and my current 2020 the formulas for converting OBD SoC to API (WattCat) SoC are: API SoC [kWh] = 1.1 x OBD SoC [kWh] - 5 kWh API SoC [%] = 1.07 x O...

Re: Off-Roading in an I-Pace

About a year ago we took the then-new I-Pace to the Mojave desert. The post focuses on the whole experience, but for this thread the offroading bit is relevant. I'm fairly experienced going fairly gnarly places with my Touareg (in one of the pictures), which is quite capable, and I have to say I was...
