Re: Which home charger?

40 metres of 5 core 10mm2 armoured cable, you will have to pawn the John Deere! Seriously, with solar your bills will be pretty reasonable. Your DNO will be very happy you are balancing the phases even if only drawing 11Kw!

Re: Ecotricity sells Electric Highway charge point network to Gridserve - Great news!

Even Gridserve_HQ are incapable or totally reluctant to offer a predicted roll out of the replacement charge points! When asked when they plan to start on the woeful M4 charge points, Membury et al, there is a deafening silence! All they say is 'We will be replacing charge points by September'! If t...

Re: Which home charger?

Coops, Owning a BEV is a voyage of discovery and adventure, not least because of the acronyms used! BEV Battery Electric Vehicle, calling an EV can be a Hybrid not fully Electric. GoM was one that fascinated me! Guess o'meter! When you get in the car you have a 'fuel' gauge usually a bar filled with...

Re: Which home charger?

If you take a look a Artisan Electric Youtube channel, they rate Zappi chargers but now also recommend the Hypervolt. In fact Jordan became quite animated over it, not least because of the customers service. They like Anderson but don't rate the customer service. All three are roughly the same price...

Re: AAWireless Wireless Android Auto Adapter

Is it really that expensive? Nearly £2,000 for the unit,. It makes Apple CarPlay adapters look a gift at under £100!

Re: Road trip to the French Alps

Beware the French methodology is to charge by the minute NOT Kw! If your car will only take 50 odd Kw per hour then it will cost a small fortune! Interestingly, Octopus Juice has a deal with Ionity which reduces the cost a bit and, more importantly, charge per Kw using the French Ionity chargers. I ...

Re: Jaguar windshield quality

I wonder whether the coating is the problem here? To keep the car cool in the summer, both the panoramic roof glass and windscreen have a UV/heat reflective coating. This effectively makes the inside of the I-Pace a Faraday cage for RF reception, but never mind because you won't fry when the sun is ...

Ferosa, could you put the MY of your car in your signature so readers will know whether it is a MY18-20 or a new MY21. The charge ports are different.

Re: Blue polystyrene blocks

A lot of people take great satisfaction in peeling the protective film off, be it on your new phone screen or the tread plates on the car!!
A sort 'it is now mine'!
Others leave it on until it looks shabby and has to come off!

Re: Blue polystyrene blocks

As Terry60 says, the trouble with bits 'left on' is should they be there or taken off. The PDI is pretty comprehensive as to what should be done during the inspection, I thought I had downloaded the PDI checklist when downloading the Workshop manual, but no I hadn't. I do seem to recall that the car...
