Re: Home Charging in UK

Yes, I'll be generally charging overnight, that will be convenient for me and help the daytime power generation as you say. I don't mean to get pedantic over utility companies and tariffs, I have spent way too much time looking at them for my power and gas requirements lately (I enjoy it secretly). ...

Re: Home Charging in UK

Thanks Tesla Driver, you have totally convinced me, it''ll be on a single tariff electricity and I'll charge it when I need to. I've found another single tariff provider same price at Ecom7 for me and my predicted usage profile. if there was a decent saving in E7 I might think about the extra faff, ...

In my case, 99.9 X .105 = £10.49/200 miles (£0.52/mile)
£0.052/mile I think? :)

Re: Net battery capacity

I was interested in the specifics of the test and I have an interest in EV batteries. The maths is rather basic, so hardly over thinking! Engineering will hopefully align the theory with the practical. I do have a bit of experience. I also tried to make the point about the flippant costs quoted by v...

Re: Net battery capacity

The Norway finding sounds a little disturbing (assuming it was reasonably scientific). I’m about to get an iPace and so have tried to read up as much as I can about the battery, charging and output. Firstly, much of what I have read has been confusing/possibly wrong. Some journalists seem to think a...

Re: Home Charging in UK

The info so far has been quite eye opening! Elbocko – Nice set up! You do well getting the car in the garage! Goshdarnit – We need a new video then! Please one with your current set up (Vid star, you!) Starlir – Thank you for sharing and well done for sorting it out. I don’t have a shared or looped ...

Re: Home Charging in UK

Great, I look forward to reading a separate thread about it. Cheers Not getting into Solar, we’ll move house before any kind of pay back. Its nothing to do with the I-Pace specifically, but since we're discussing charging options, I'll share my experience with buying and selling a Solar PV system fo...

Re: Home Charging in UK

Thanks for the replies again, they have proved valuable. I re-consulted with my electrician and he agreed 50 amps would be ok and will upgrade components accordingly. He mentioned ‘diversity’ and I looked it up on the net. I could feel the life sucking away from me, so 50 Amps it is, come what may. ...

Re: Home Charging in UK

Thank you for all the replies so far, some of the fog is slowly clearing! This is what I am mentally planing right now; My workmen with do the power and path bits. Electrician has already surveyed and said we need an earth point. He said 40 amps would be fine, not sure on the max current of the wiri...
