Re: At Last - nine month gestation period?

All the systems seem to be working fine except the Navigation which wanted to take me 324 kms instead of the 300 km direct route. I'll have to dig into the menu to find out why - maybe it wanted to take me on a sight-seeing tour of its own invention. Was it trying to take you via a charging point?

Re: Car registers 3% to few km

And does this mean that your speedometer now also under-reads by 3%? Although perhaps it's now just slightly closer to actual speed as they generally over-read slightly by default. They over-read by law - it's in the vehicle regs that speedos must never under-read, so it's natural for manufacturers...

With or without a cover, the camera would still get dirty, so would still need to be wiped.

Re: New cars delivered with 18D?

Your ability to give JLR a free pass on a clunky and buggy infotainment just because software development is not their primary business is impressive. Almost as impressive as your ability to read "free pass" into what I wrote. But hey, you can misinterpret whatever you like, it doesn't make it true...

I don't think comparing Microsoft til JLR is particularly fair.
Agreed, Microsoft is a software company whose business is (buggy) software. Jaguar is a car manufacturer who makes fine driving machines.

... shipping unfinished and buggy software
All software is buggy, you only have to look at the number and frequency of Microsoft updates to see that, and that's their actual business that they can't get right.
