Hi all,

I know not everyone likes to or maybe wants to, use the signature feature to add car details or other (sometimes amusing) comments but I think it would benefit members here if at a minimum we all tried to at least have the model type and year (helps as MY20 etc are released) in there.

This makes it easier to see what issues or issue trends are cropping up with which model year / or model of I Pace and better for members to recommend or help with suggestions, sometimes its hard to offer an answer if you don't know what model you are talking about as specs are obviously different.

Just a suggestion and I'm not saying it should by any means be a rule, but just a thought!

Thanks
Chris

PS country/location would help also in your side bio.

Hi ChrisMc, I agree, if we are genuinely trying to help JLR in there quest to make the vehicle more reliable, its a good idea to give a bit more info in our signature panel, do you think we should add fitted options like Air Suspension,AdSR, Adaptive Dynamics etc ?.

IMHO it would be best to have as much info as possible, that way members or JLR can offer the right information, hopefully first time rather than wasting time offering advice that may not be applicable. Good clear communication are always the best way to resolve problems asap.

signatures are not persistent with posts so, for example, if you look at your very first post it'll have your current new signature.

Adding temporary things to signatures such as telematics versions, is just confusing since it will only be "true" for your very recent posts, and anybody browsing or searching the forum will see potentially misleading info on all the older posts.

So normal forum etiquette is not to have such dynamic signatures........

I disagree. A signature is not a true part of the post written. As soon as you learn this the better. This is the nature of signatures in forums.

As the new updates appear to hide the telematics and BMS update version numbering, I have just put H228 to cover those.
Interestingly mine does still show the Telematics version despite having H228 (Unless its > 19.07.x that is hiding the version?

Given that mine was a replacement telematics module it could be that it shipped with 16.2 and thus is still showing it?

Mine also shows my telematic version is 16.2

Sorry if I have created confusion with using H228 instead of Telematics and BCM version numbers.

These are modules the update covers:

Battery Energy Control Module
Power train Control Module
ABS Software
Brake Booster module
Parking Assist Control module
Cruise Control Module
Occupant monitoring Module
InControl Touch Pro system allowing SOTA

The Telematics update is not part of the H228 update, but clearly the latest Telematics removes the version number. As such, yes it is possible to have the H228 update, but maybe this does not affect the Telematics Unit? Maybe someone (pcheaven), might be able to clarify this. I have to confess I am not clear on what the telematics unit actually looks after.

I don't see the point in Jaguar bringing in cars for the H228 update, thereby getting all cars onto the same software that is not possible to update using SOTA, then not to include the Telematics unit in the update?

My telematics has never been updated. Still on 14.2. After h159 it stopped reporting telematics version until I checked fir an update at which point it would populate that field. Since h228 it always reports the telematics version without having to check for updates first. Been on 14.2 since day 1. No problems with it. Never had a black screen of death or lost the app connection.

I second that... It really does help to have the information we all refer to in your signature as we don't then have to ask, what is your infotainment number, which version of car do you have, what is your telematic. etc.

Please review the signatures you can see, decide which one is best for your but do put a signature in place in any format you like.

Although oddly mine does show the telematics version after H228 in the info panel (16.2 for posterity on this post). It might be that I asked them to update it at the same time as H228 and after continually failing they physically replaced the telematics unit perhaps?
