I ordered my new factory built car early January with a predicted delivery in March, asking the dealer yesterday for an update that has been put back to May.
Has anyone else had this long delay, or any feedback why?.

Have received details to set a password for the InControl app. Should I be going on to try to complete the vehicle setup even though the vehicle is only due to be delivered on Monday? Advice appreciated.
Yes, you can then track where it is :)

My MY21 was built 3 September, due to arrive into dealer 25 September and current estimated delivery date to me of 1 October. This was last checked with dealer yesterday (18 September).

Hope this is a helpful data point.
Wow, thanks! Better chase my dealer then... Had a call from them a week ago saying they were told "factory isn't open yet"

That's nonsense the factory has been reopened and operating for months they completed build of my earlier MY20 order which I canceled in June

Yes, can see it is still in London with full charge. Will be rather anxious of it doesn't start moving tomorrow!

Just chased my dealer, their understanding is the factory still isn't open and building MY21 and any builds coming in the next weeks are the MY20s...they've emailed the factory to find out more....
Just not true, MY21 build started from early August, factory reopened in early June. Your dealer is either lying or incompetent it seems to me.

2 of us here have had our MY21s confirmed as built.

The issue I heard was that they wanted to test the very first batch of built MY21s as a group (presumably for training and regulatory reasons) so they are building up ready for a block inspection, with additional batches thereafter presumably being released faster.

I ordered from Carrs of Truro, I am currently expecting to take delivery of mine in the week after the 10th October. I changed my order from a MY20 to MY21 in early July.

Thanks - I literally placed the order the week the MY21 was announced so I in theory should be in that first batch.... That whole thing with testing etc may be it - why they're not telling the bigger dealers much if nothing at all
Except your dealer said the factory is closed, which is just not true

I placed my order the day the MY21 was announced (mid-June some point). The order was placed with Listers of Droitwich - they've been really helpful when I've called for updates.

It does seem like your dealer doesn't have a clue. That, or Jaguar has started painting MY20s in Eiger Grey...

I've called around a couple other dealers in/around London and they haven't heard about any MY21 I-Paces being built either weirdly...

The lucky folks who've had your cars built and on the way already - where did you order from? :p
And to think there would be zero incentive to tell porkies with a lot of unsold MY20s slushing around would there ;)

Just had a call from my dealer Listers Droitwich out of the blue without me chasing. I ordered MY21 HSE 20th July and it built and should be at the dealer on the 9th October so should get 2nd week of October. Please with that as originally told 30th November. Cant wait

My I Pace S went last week and I've just heard that my replacement HSE will be delivered on Tuesday. I love new car day :D .

This is a stock car, so MY20 rather than MY21.

Just the tedious insurance transfer phone call to get through now.

How long did you have the S model?

18 months - it was one of the bargain 18-month leases that were available before launch. Link to the original thread.

Dealers are probably on a bonus to sell stock cars, surprise, surprise, some are economical with the truth.

Snap. Apparently into dealer on Monday and then they expect to turn around and deliver late next week. Trying to manage my own expectations that another delay is possible, though very excited!

Did you find out what the software/hardware hold up was? Wondering whether this is an indication of more bugs to be experienced once delivered...

I hadn't heard that there was a software or hardware hold up simply that they were waiting to test a batch of cars for the first MY21 release rather than release individual cars as completed.

My dealer is a little concerned that they may need to make updates prior to handover as this is the first MY21 they have had and they had some issues with early defender deliveries
