Finally Got It!!

I finally picked up my I-Pace this afternoon! The whole thing was such a fabulous experience. From the red sheet covering to the big reveal. And then the drive home! I asked quite a few questions thanks to the forum, and had some pleasant surprises. He tells me that it has an update which has enabled OTA updates. Not sure if that's right, but that's what he told me. Had a minor glitch with InControl setup but that was fixed with a password reset. Seems to be working fine now. I can set climate control and unlock from the app, as well as see where the car is. So far, so good.

The side panels are the new ones with the embossed writing rather than the decals. He said that the demonstrator has already suffered with fading decals and looks really bad now.

I put my data only sim from Three in (20 Gb a month for £13) and it worked straight away too. Wasn't expecting that to be so simple in all honesty.

It's the first time I've seen my choices (colour, interior and wheels) on one car, and I have to say it looks stunning! Couple of pics below. I didn't take too many as I was too busy drooling!

The drive home was just spectacular. I had to turn right from the dealers onto a busy road, and had to go for a gap. Wow. That car doesn't need much of a gap! One big issue was when I got it home, with the mirrors folded there is about 1cm clearance on either side to my garage door. That was scary, but I can confirm that the 360 camera works a treat, and doesn't seem to be suffering from lag either. The parking sensors also work really well! Scariest 30 seconds of my life I think!

Anyway, I only drove it for 8 miles, but wow. So happy with my choice. Also had someone come up to me when I stopped somewhere and ask me about the car. Guess I'll have to get used to that!

So thanks guys. The forum has been extremely useful and has helped keep me (relatively) sane during the long wait.

Hi Goshdarnit, is your Three data only sim card on a monthly contract? I want something similar but can't see anything like it on the Three web site. Thanks.

Hi. Yes it's a pay monthly sim only deal on a 24 month contract. Try this link:-

I have no idea how much data the car will chew up so I am opting for Three's pay up front 24GB for £42.97 on Amazon with the ability to top up after it has used up all the data, or you can always buy a new one of course if the top up is more expensive. And the data allowance lasts 24 months so that looked like a pretty good deal to me.

Looks great. I have the same colours inside and out on my FE and it's the first grey car I've owned. Always shied away from that colour, but really like it on the iPace. Are you able to check the infotainment and telematics version it's running?

This is not the latest software.
I have Telematics 15.2 and Infotainment S18D
DrPhil, Any noteable difference with the new software version?
I came from S18C and 13.2 telematics but there is not any substantial difference. It should now have OTA and 100kwh charging speed, but I can not verify this. There are some minor adjustments in the infotainment area and it seems a bit quicker responsive. There are also Android settings but I do not know if that means that it supports Android auto (as I have a iPhone).

I looks great.

Can I ask, do you know how wide your garage door is? This is a concern of mine, as it'll be the widest car I've had, and I'm hopoing it'll fit!

Not that there's a much I can do about it now.

14.2 already supports Android Auto if you're in a country that supports it. Will be interesting to know if OTA and 100kW is really supported. Would be a big step forward. Do you know if there's any improvement on the reversing camera?

Well done darnit. That shot of the front wings shows off the most attractive part of the car IMHO.

There should be another joining the SW Scotland I-Pace club in around 2 weeks :)
I agree. It looks very aggressive from a low front angle. Nice to see the eJag club growing in the SW Scotland region. Both times I've parked in public someone has come to speak to me about it, so expect some attention!

DrPhil I don't mean to doubt you but can you do me/us a favor and positively confirm that you have telematics 15.2?
My iPace is stuck at dealer with software issues and I want to make sure that they update to the latest versions before I take delivery. Thanks!
[Anyone else with 15.2??]

I just measured my garage door. The opening is 2.11 metres wide.

Finally got the info you asked for. Same software as everyone else, but so far no major issues. But I've not done many miles and it's locked away now until I can get the PPF done.
