Hello all
I have been quietly sitting in the wings for the past few months , studying and learning from your EV knowledges , many thanks
I shall be getting my first EV on the 10th October hopefully , and after my test drive , I am so excited , it really is a beautiful bit of kit !
A yulong white HSE , which , judging by the ' what colour ' topic , will be very rare , but I like it , so there !
Possibly aimed more at our French contingent , but towards the end of October I will be taking the I-Pace to Bordeaux , quite an EV baptism
I have found a 100 KWH charger at Tours , where we will do an overnighter on the way down
Do anymore exist in the vicinity of my route or shall I just plan around 50 KWH s , of which there seems to be quite a few ?

Thanks in advance , Malcolm

My sympathies for your ordeal, Malcolm. Trail blazers deserve better than to have their steed fail on day one!

Happy to see that the actual driving but a big smile on your face - may that continue when the car is returned to you.

French e-infrastructure is lagging other countries as far as I can gather - I believe it is a bureaucratic thing regarding permits for chargers. Tesla initially did not have fixed superchargers but "temporary" ones limited to 60KW that were "moveable", before their permits were (finally) granted.

Fault has hopefully been traced to simply a damaged / broken wiring loom in the rear of the car , which could explain the drained battery
the same loom connects with the brakes too , so fingers crossed all will be good in the world again when my new loom arrives with the dealer on Monday
GJ68 may still make an appearance at Millbrook on the 11th !

Hurrah indeed!
Had the confirmation from my dealer today that GJ68 is cured :D :D :D :D
They have changed the suspected faulty wiring harness , an/the auxiliary battery and some part of the charger/transformer , and been very vigilant in testing .
It is getting valeted tomorrow and I am booked in to collect my whitebeast at 10am on Saturday ,
I hope that Canterbury To Millbrook , and back , is more successful than the Bordeaux trip

Hi Malcolm. I remember your first post explaining your planned trip, to be completed immediately after you had taken delivery and I admired your bravery at the time. I am sorry it turned out problematic, although it sounds you were unlucky with the fault that occurred. I guess it's inevitable that such new technology is going to have teething problems, but I am delighted to hear JLR assistance did as you always hope it will, and that you will soon have your car back. I hope you have better luck going forward.
It sounds like, other than the unfortunate breakdown, you are enjoying the car. Long may it continue.

FFS It's a good job I'm not superstitious!
Had a lovely drive today, what great fun !
Showing the car off to a friend and I noticed the windscreen.
I remember on my drive back from the dealer yesterday, a gentle drive and something hit the screen, couldn't see anything, but omfg there is the result!
Maybe the first I-Pace windscreen replacement!
